Our golfers have spoken! "Best Golf Outing in Connecticut". We have heard this time and time again and this year we hope to be no different as we put together fun for all!

Help change the world for the better as you make your way from hole to hole at one of the top public courses in the state, Tashua Knolls. While you are having fun, you will also know that the hungry are being fed, veterans are being supported, high school students are getting scholarships, villages running water and a whole host of other concerns that Rotary lends a hand to. YOU will be making a difference.

Not a golfer? No problem. We have sponsorships at many levels. ANYONE can be a sponsor. A business, a person, a family, a non-profit, a club, a group....literally anyone!!!

Just click on the events tab above. Here you can get more info and/or a paper registration form OR for the fastest and easiest way to sign up, GO HERE. No matter how you choose to be a part of this amazing event, we guarantee a fun time will be had by all!!!

Have You Heard? Trumbull Rotary’s Children’s Book Project is Gaining Momentum!

We’re excited to share that Kindness is Caring, Friendship is Sharing: A Book for Children Worldwide has now passed the halfway mark in our $50,000 fundraising goal—and we’d love your club to be part of the journey!

This special Rotary-themed project, written for Rotarians to share, was created in partnership with beloved children’s author Tish Rabe and carries a two-fold mission:

Literacy – Designed to inspire a love of reading in children ages 4–7, this beautifully written and illustrated book follows Amani, a young zebra, on an adventure across the African plains. The simple story celebrates friendship and introduces young readers to the values of kindness, empathy, and caring for others.

Membership – We’re taking an outside-the-box approach to introduce Rotary to parents and caregivers. The Four-Way Test is featured on the inside front cover, and a warm, inviting message about Rotary’s mission appears on the final pages, encouraging readers to learn more and get involved.

We would like to thank the following clubs that have chosen to join us so far in making this project a legacy for Rotary worldwide. Devon, Fairfield, Monroe, Norwich, Wilton, the Donor Advised Fund at The Rotary Foundation & Westerly, Rhode Island Clubs. And we have received commitments from Bridgeport, Derby Shelton, Greenwich, Groton, Milford, Orange, Stratford, and Unity Hill Church.

Maybe your club hasn’t heard about this project yet; we would love the opportunity to change that! We are visiting clubs across the district to share our book project, its impact, and how your club can help bring it to life. If your club would like to schedule a brief presentation (in person or via Zoom), we’d be honored to join you. Let’s work together to bring Rotary’s message of community and literacy to new families.

Let’s make this Rotary story one that is shared around the world—one child, and one club, at a time.

So much of what we do as a club involves food. Our Friday morning meetings, carnival, food drives and gardens for children. Food brings people together, it is a gesture of comfort and caring. It is the place where conversations happen, laughter occurs and connections are made.

Breakfast at Merton House is another one of those things with food. The Rotary Club of Trumbull makes breakfast once a month at the Merton House in Bridgeport, providing a hot meal to, on average, 130 men, women and sometimes children that show up on the 3rd Thursday of the month.

Rotarians get to The Thomas Merton Center around 7:30am to start preparing breakfast. The hot food menu consists of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, orange juice and coffee. It's a lot of food and while it is sometimes hard to imagine preparing for and feeding 130 people in 2 1/2 hours, it magically happens every single time. While we buy the majority of the food, CHIPS out of Fairfield partners with us by providing the pancake batter monthly.

Those that partake in the meal are grateful for the hot meal to start their day. Even more so during the winter months and during Covid when they were being served outside, regardless of the weather.

Please check out their website if you are interested in helping at Merton House. https://www.themertoncenter.org/
